Pests in your house can be very irritating as they can cause many problems. One of the pests that can invade your home is mold. These are microscopic organisms that you can find anywhere in the house be it indoors or outdoors. They are neither plants nor animals but fungi which is alive. They are part of a group of living organisms that have an important role on earth. Penicillin and yeast are a type of mold that is very useful in the lives of human beings. They thrive in warm places that have adequate oxygen, nutrients and water.
In your house you will find them in places where there is food, warmth and moisture. They are most likely found in, basements and bathrooms but can also be found in other rooms if they get favorable conditions. Your living habits and the climate of the place you live in can also affect the growth of the mold. The spores move around in the air and can attach themselves in people’s skin and other belongings. For effective pest control methods you are supposed to make sure that you do not provide them with conducive environments where they can reproduce and multiply.
You can also reduce humidity in your house by opening your windows daily for around half an hour. Ensure that you clean areas that accumulate humidity like showers, floors and faucets. Repair all the pipes that leak in the house and treat and dry water damage as soon as possible. You should also limit the plants and carpets that you have in your house as this provides conducive environments for them to reproduce. You can also use air purifiers to reduce the contamination levels. Other than this you should also protect your home from other types of pests such as vermin so that you do not suffer from pest invasion.
